Tip #1 : Drain the carrots. After the carrots are cooked, make sure you drain them from the cooking water. The last thing you want is a watery carrot salad. You can let them sit in the colander of the sink for a few minutes and give the carrots a few tosses to release any excess water

Tip #2: Let the carrots marinate for a bit just before you serve. Set aside the carrots for a few minutes and them them soak up the flavors in order to get the strongest flavor

Tip #3 : You can slice the carrots into julienne matchsticks if you don’t have a grater. If you use a fine-toothed grater, your carrot salad will get soggier and softer faster

Tip #4 : If you are looking for a fruity tang to your carrot salad, add one tablespoon of orange juice

Tip #5 : To make your carrot salad crispy, spread the carrots ina colander and use a paper towel to press out the excess moisture

Tip #6 : In a German carrot salad, grating the carrots too fine is not a good idea as it will affect the crunch
