Grapefruit Avocado Salad Tips

Tip #1 : Consider using concentrate orange or mandarin orange juice because they are sweeter than grapefruit juice

Tip #2 : There are some great add-ins to a Grapefruit Avocado Salad. Bulgur, croutons, barley and sunflower seeds

Tip #3 : Make sure you choose a grapefruit that is sweet enough that doesn’t have any added sugar. If you are using a white grapefruit, you can add some sugar or even maple syrup to your dressing. This keeps the salad from tasting too tart.

Tip #4 : Manchego cheese is great in a Grapefruit salad because it has a flavor that is mild and very nutty. If you can’t find Manchego cheese, Parmesan or swiss cheese are also great options.

Tip #5 : Choose green that can stand up to the grapefruit and the dressing. Great choices include spinach, baby kale or arugula.

Tip #6 : Instead of using black pepper, a great pepper for a Grapefruit Avocado salad would be freshly ground pink peppercorns. The taste of the pink peppercorns are much milder than black pepper

Tip #7 : If you are using a large grapefruit, save of the peeled segments so you can produce some juice for the dressing
